You blink and summer is nearly upon us, the only problem with this time of year is a lot of produce is at the end of the season before the new starts to come through. For example, the potato, we love a potato in this country and it is coming to the end of its season so there is inconsistency in size and taste but there is always flip side with jersey royals and new potatoes coming into their own. English savoy cabbage is replacing Spanish and English hispi and spring green are not to be missed this time of year. Purple sprouting has gone expensive but English asparagus has appeared because of our mild nights.


Vegetables

Potatoes are all here, your personal favourite isprobably available, including italiannew potatoes andvery expensive cyprus. traditional carrots, chatenay carrots (traditional and mix colour). parsnips(baby and traditional), swedes, turnips, leeks, celeriac, parsleyroot and chervil root. Beetroots (red, candy, golden and all the babyvarieties). asparagus, kholarabi, artichokes (Jerusalem, cluster and globe) pumpkins (ironbar and traditional) squash (mixed and butternut) fennel, horseradish, garlic (traditional, black, smoked, peeled,paste and string) ginger, galangal, onions (spainish, english, red, grellots,roscoff) shallots (banana and round) chillies (all varieties) lemongrass, mangetout, sugarsnaps, beans (French, flat and bobby) romero, peppers, salsify, sweetpotatoes, baby veg (red peppers, aubergine, courgettes,fennel, leeks, turnips) asparagus, babypotatoes (charlotte,pink fier, truffle, ratte) jacket potatoes(40's, 50's, 60's) samphire, pre cooked corn on cob, rappa and fresh peas and italian broad beans

Melons- galia, cantalope, charantais, honeydew and watermelon.... cooking- bramleys, rhubarb and Quinces are coming to an end softfruit- strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries and redcurrants...

the rest- banana, papaya, mango, physalis, pomegrantes, dates, figs, khaki, sharon fruit, kiwi, passion fruit, dragon fruit and starfruit, seedless grapes, pomegranate avocados, prunes, dried apricots, pineapples and pears (conference, williams, red blush andcomice).

Salad
